Box of Toys, a sound and music design studio working with clients ranging from global branding agencies to leading animation studios, approached us to refresh their identity. The concept is based on the visual language of musical notation. In the 1950s and 60s, composers including Krzysztof Penderecki, Karlheinz Stockhausen, John Cage and Roman Haubenstock-Ramati began using graphic notation as an alternative to traditional scoring. Inspired by this approach, we developed a graphic system that underpins the logotype and extends into a flexible visual language, applied across social, digital, merchandise and printed materials.
